IN HEALTH NEWS: International experts are helping Saudi Arabia and Yemen fight the recent spread of Rift Valley fever. At least 55 people have died from the disease. It is the first time Rift Valley fever has been reported outside of Africa. Mosquitoes spread the disease from animals to humans. It causes diarrhea, bleeding inside the body and kidney failure. Saudi Arabia is using insect poison along its border with Yemen to kill mosquitoes. Saudi officials also have ordered the killing of all farm animals believed to be infected with Rift Valley fever.
