IN NORTHERN INDIA: The Dalai Lama has joined millions of Hindus at the world's largest religious gathering. The World Hindu Council invited the Tibetan Buddhist leader to the Kumbh Mela. Hindus wash in the Ganges River where it meets the Yamuna. The Dalai Lama said the water was too cold for him to wash in. But he did put his finger in the water after a special religious ceremony that he led along the riverbank.
