WASHINGTON: An International Monetary Fund report says the world economy could grow by nearly 5 percent this year. That would be the fastest growth in twelve years. The report also says the American economy will slow to a rate that would not cause inflation. But it says there is a chance that stronger American demand for goods and services will cause higher interest rates. The IMF report says economies of every area of the world will grow. And the report expressed concern over higher fuel prices.
