IN NEWS FROM AFRICA: Nine countries have signed a free trade agreement Tuesday in Luska, Zambia. They considered the agreement on a free trade area the first move toward a larger economic union among the countries. The nine countries are all members of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa.* But observers say civil wars in some countries will make it difficult for all 20 members to join the free trade agreement. The nine countries in the Luska Agreement include Djibouti, Egypt, Kenya and Madagascar. The others are Malawi, Mauritius, Sudan, Zambia and Zimbabwe. * the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa 東南アフリカ共通市場
